CHALK DUST
	Ray Waugh, Jr.
Did you ever snap a football
that had chalk from the yard stripe on it?
Well, I remember one Friday under the lights
long ago, when this happened to me.
I don't think that the “chalk dust” which made the yard line
	     interrupted play,
nor did it cause us to lose the game.
Our past is like just so much "chalk dust."
Much of our past is like so much extra baggage.
It does not add much weight to the present,
adds a little contrast of colors helping us.
There is too much now and for sure too much tomorrow
to dwell long on the gone past . . .
but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus . Philippians 3:13-14
