Exile

CARRY AWAY INTO - In ancient times the practice was to move the defeated populations into different locations. The Assyrians carried the ten (10) Northern Tribes into exile. Daniel and others were carried away into exile by the Babylonians. There were several possible advantage in this practice:

1) utilized the skill of the craftsman,
2) mixing several different populations diluted political, racial, and cultural power
