December 4, 1998, MinistryServer.com Today space is a bit fuller. The Space Shuttle Endeavor and six astronauts are continuing to assemble the new space station.

I am unable to provide justification for and/or against this project. I have read and heard about heated debates concerning the value of this project.

Some are saying that this is the Last Frontier? I personally think that it is not the Last Frontier or Final Frontier.

I wonder how many before 1998 have thought that the horizon they saw was the last frontier?

Is it not a bit arrogant to think that WE ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE VENTRUED TO THE GATE OF THE LAST or FINAL FRONTIER?

I do not know much about aliens and all the extra-terrestial stuff...
This much I do know.
If the Lord tarries, there WILL BE INDIVIDUALS IN SPACE.
Acts 1:8 applies.

6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

For all of mankind The Next Frontier has always led to The Next Fountier.

The adventure of living and discovery is a step by step  journey.
Each step opening a new frontier...the next frontier...

...the walk by and in faith is an adventure...

Pre-December 4, 1998, MinistryServer.com Over the years I have met a few individuals who genuinely felt a call from God to allow space to be their "Go…" of Matthew 28.

If the Lord tarries, God will have His followers on ships and living habitats outside of our atmosphere pointing the way to Christ. He has always had ways to move his followers beyond Jerusalem.

At first, those who will work in space will not be "full time" ministers as we call them. However, these highly educated and skilled witnesses will have a job to do. The Holy Spirit will provide opportunities for the redeemed to bear testimony to the saving and substitutionary work of Christ at wells in far, far away Samaria's, hostile planetary deserts , and even to a few tree climbers.

Your kids and grand kids playing "those computer games" will be using their skills to explore and live in space.

We live in a remarkable time. Many, many years ago Abram looked at the stars outside his tent and God made him a promise. Many years later, God sent his son from beyond the stars to keep than promise. How remarkable is our time in history. Some of God's children of promise can be in the stars declaring and bearing witness to the God of all creation and salvation.

Some things you might do:

• Pray for those who are going and who will go…
• Support those who are going and who will go…
• Encourage them to study…math, science, social skills, and their Bibles
• Be a faithful example in your everyday life…
• Help them to learn the interpersonal skill needed in "close-quarters"…
• Help them to learn to be secure in their faith "alone" and apart from family…
• Allow them the freedom to discover their own reasons for believing…in the death…burial…and resurrection of Jesus Christ…

Paul utilized the technology of his day to carry the gospel to Rome. The dust of the Roman roads led to ministry opportunities.

The roads of Space may not be dusty, but hurting, needy people live in the void of space now. Everyone needs to hear The Good News that Jesus Christ came to take away the sin of the world.
