Inspiration [1930]

SCRIPTURE AND INSPIRATION The Written Word of God is the very breath of God in the language of men. The Living Word of God is the very breath (life) of God made flesh, crucified, and resurrected. The Scripture is our authority and guide to God, salvation, and daily walk. Scripture must interpret Scripture. The Written Word must never be interpreted from our experience. Our experience must be compared to and based on Scripture. To deny or cast doubt on the Scripture is to cast doubt on Jesus Christ. No one can have a vicarious salvation experience. Spiritual growth is limited unless there is a personal–one on one–involvement with the Word. God's written out-breathing toward man is to be read, studied, believed, and lived as the Living Word and Written Word intermingle in a harmony based on God's love for man and His justice in the face of sin and death.
